STOP THE CLOCK

Immersive Piano Concert

“That concert was like a big exhale.”

—Mylène Comeau, Festival Hom’Art

You come for a concert.

You travel through forests, coastlines and changing light.

You leave feeling a little closer to nature.

ABOUT

Stop the Clock pairs live, original piano music with large-scale nature projections in an immersive concert experience.

The project began when daily dog walks led Reesor to record small moments in nature that stopped her in her tracks. Returning to the piano, she asked: “what sound could translate this moment?”.

What started as a collection of video-and-piano snapshots gradually became Stop the Clock, a seated nature walk where audiences are taken on a journey, to simply sit closer to nature.

Drawing from classical, folk and contemporary influences, Stop the Clock is accessible to both regular concertgoers and first-time audiences.

Stop the Clock continues to evolve as new landscapes, films and compositions become part of the performance.

ABOUT BECKY

Becky Reesor is an immersive pianist-composer based in Saint John, NB. With original piano and large-scale nature projections, she turns concerts into journeys.

A lifelong creative across music, art, words and movement, she returned to that multidisciplinary freedom later in her career. Now, she shapes performances that invite audiences to slow down, notice more and experience music through multiple senses.

Reesor’s folk-inflected classical style draws on jazz and electronic influences. Her work has been featured on CBC Radio and presented in venues ranging from Scotland's historic Iona Abbey to arts centres across Eastern and Atlantic Canada.
